Getting Here

By Car

  • M90 to junction 6, Kinross
  • A977 east towards Kinross centre
  • 3rd left into Emslie Drive, opposite the school
  • At end right into Green Road
  • Entrance to the curling rink is on your left after about 100m

From Edinburgh Airport

If you are coming simply for the bonspiel then it is quite possible to manage without hiring a car. If you get accommodation within walking distance of the rink then you can get to Kinross easily by bus. Unfortunately, there is no train service to Kinross.

Ember run busses from the airport direct to Kinross, and Stagecoach run the JET 787 bus which is direct and the JET 747 which requires one change. These all arrive at Kinross Park and Ride, which is an easy 10 minute walk from the rink.

Information: Ember busses, Stagecoach busses

Bus times and ticket prices can be found on the above websites.

Accommodation

There are hotels and bed and breakfast accommodation in the area. Some need a car and others are close enough to walk. Please note that the drink drive alcohol limit in Scotland is lower than in England and to be safe you should not drink anything before driving.

I have marked the main local options on the map and provided the detail below. There are other options, including a good selection on AirBnb that may suit you. Most will require you to have a car. If you are unsure about a particular one, then ask me and I can check it out for you.

Muirs Inn

Small hotel about a 5 minute walk from the ice rink with 4 rooms en-suite bedrooms. It doesn’t do breakfast.

Travelodge

Website: Travelodge

Located at the services at junction 6 of the M90, about a 15 minute walk to the ice rink. It doesn't do breakfast. It will be the cheapest option for your stay. Part of a budget hotel chain.

Green Hotel

Right next door to the ice rink. Although usually the most expensive option, they sometimes offer discounts for curlers. They have been renovating the rooms and working to improve their customer service.

Kirklands Hotel

This hotel is around a 5 - 10 minute walk from the ice rink. It has 9 bedrooms which are a mix of double, twin and family rooms. I think this is the nicest hotel in Kinross.

Burnbank Bed and Breakfast

This is a 4 star B&B around a 10 - 15 minute walk from the ice rink.

Mawcarse House B&B

Carsehall Farm B&B

This B&B is run by one of our local curlers. 4 miles away so needs a car and takes about 10 minutes to drive to the ice rink. They have a twin and a double room (separate bookings on AirBnb) and a shared lounge/breakfast room.
