The winners of this event (and probably the runners up as well) qualify for the Scottish Pairs competition which will take place at Stranraer from 12th to 14th March 2027.
The bar will be open throughout and food will be available.
Format
The competitions will be played over 2 days with up to 20 teams. The format used will be decided by the number of entries. For 16 to 20 teams:
- Teams will be divided into 4 groups and will play a round robin
- the top 3 teams in each group will qualify for the knockout stages.
Rules
- Each game will be 5 ends or the bell at 50 minutes, apart from the semi-finals which will be 5 ends (no bell) and the final which will be 6 ends (no bell). The end in progress when the bell rings may be completed.
- 6 stones will be played, and a 4-rock rule will apply.
- Sections will be ranked by points, shot up, ends won, then total shots. There will be 2 point for a win and 1 for a peel.
- If any knockout game ends in a draw, then a draw shot will be played, apart from the final, where an extra end will be played.
- Hammer in the group games, semi-finals, and final will be decided by a coin toss. In the knockout stage and quarter-finals, the team finishing higher in their section will receive hammer.
- There will be a bell to start the session once all the sheets are available. Individual games must not start before this bell.
- Scorecards must be completed, checked, and signed.
